The weekly bon mot

"You can taste baijiu when you're dead.  Especially if you've lived a bad life."

One of my lady friends suggested to me last month that perhaps it would be 'safe' - and a useful money-saving ploy - to switch to baijiu, the rotgut Chinese 'white spirit', after drinking a lot of whisky, because "you won't taste it when you're drunk".  Silly, silly girl!  At least she provoked a good reply from me.
