Clearer skies ahead?

We've just suffered through two of the most horrible days I can remember in Beijing.

Online weather forecasts suggest there will be more heavy rain tonight and/or tomorrow, and that things should be miraculously cleared up again by Saturday - with cloudless skies, much lower humidity, and temperatures hovering pleasantly in the mid-80s.

That sounds too good to be true. But I hope it comes to pass, so that we can get maximum enjoyment from this weekend's 'Daze Feast out at 2 Kolegas.

[Hmm, I wonder if Badr has guanxi with the people who control Beijing's notorious Weather Machine??]

Well, of course all relevant requests and documents have been lodged with The Relevant Organs (@relevantorgans) including a 'blue sky' request, all musicians passports and visas, set lists and lyrics. As yet no response received, you wouldn't happen to have any contacts on the 'inside' would you Froog? Randy Abel Stable are really hoping their song 'Bob Dylan came to Beijing' doesn't get harmonised!

Are you making that up, Rubes? That would be a great title for a song! "... and no-one could understand a word he said... but that's 'cos he had nothing to say..."

I pre-cooked this one at lunchtime, judging from the darkening sky that the storm would break around the time the post went up. I am getting scarily good at my prognostications about the Beijing weather!

Unfortunately, at this point I was approximately half-way through my 80-minute commute up to the far north 5th Ringroad. The whole Wudaokou area was flooded to a depth of 3" or 4" within minutes of the rain beginning - complete chaos.
