Blog traffic report for March

March was a furiously busy month - 48 posts, 15,000 words.

Those totals were boosted a little by the 'live blog party' I tried to promote at the start of the month during the apartment-trashing Bob Marley Birthday celebration I threw here at Froog Towers. I had very little success in persuading any of my real world guests to add a comment to the blog, but I did provoke a number of old friends I hadn't heard from in ages to send a cyber-hello.

The posting frenzy, though, was mostly driven by my whimsical (insane!) undertaking to try to add at least one post every day. That took far too much out of me - I don't think I'll be setting myself any other such arbitrary targets in a hurry!

From now on, 25-30 posts per month is a more likely rate of output.

Contributors to the 'blog party', and subsequent related posts, briefly swelled the visitor figures, which began to catch up to those of older brother Froogville again. I still haven't developed a theory to account for this, but, whereas in the early days of my two blogs, their stats were identical (my friends dutifully visiting both, one after the other, I must suppose), in the past couple of months Froogville has started pulling ahead at the rate of 25-30 hits per week. That gap might seem trivial, but I have so few regular readers that it is statistically significant. The gap between the two blogs had stretched to just over a hundred hits at the start of March, closed to half of that in the couple of weeks following the party, but has now started to open up again.

I will work out what is causing this one day. It's not, I hope, any disparity in quality between the two blogs. In fact, I am rather proud of some of the recent posts over here on the Barstool; I think a lot of my best stuff is on here. But perhaps my readers do not agree? Oh, well.

Unfortunately, we now have problems with government censorship in my country of residence making access to the blog somewhat difficult (see recent posts on Froogville for more details), and probably reducing the number of visits (or the number of recorded visits). Trying times.

What will April have in store for our little blog? We'll have to wait and see.

I almost never visit the other blog. It seems a little grown up for me.

Any thoughts on wedding travel possibilities?

Ah, that's the sweetest thing anybody's ever said about either of them!

Much as I would love to join you for a weekend of debauch in Limerick, I fear it would be too much of an extravagance in my present straitened financial circumstances. If my contract with the IT company does get renewed, I might buy a flight on impulse in celebration..... but they're still keeping me hanging.
