One of the Chinese regulars (a co-owner?) at Jianghu caught my female companion's attention the other night for his apparent suavity with the ladies.
"He's very charming," she remarked.
Daniel the resident guitar maestro, who knows the guy rather better, scoffed and responded, "No, he's not 'charming'. Just 'persistent'."
There is a lesson for all of us in that observation.
